"I have been working with Marcela for more than 3 years and she is one of the best professionals I have ever met. She is effective, resourceful, responsible. Her translations are impeccable, and she always meets the agreed deadlines. Excellent."
"Marcela Torres has been working with National Geographic for one year as a translator and she is a very professional and quick collaborator, with capacity for adaptation and almost immediate availability. In addition, she is especially fast with her deliveries and specialized in the subject of nature, history and science. Highly recommended."
"Great job translating a scientific article. She was fast and met the deadlines. We will keep counting on her. Effective and efficient."
"I want to thank Marcela for her sensitivity in working with us at the Ugandan leaders’ tour in Karibu. I think Marcela’s ease in which she was able to approach the difficult topics made it easier for the African women to be understood and to communicate."
Below is a sample of my interpreting work at the Testimony Tour event “From Africa to Europe”. I interpreted in both consecutive and chuchotage styles for the Ugandan leaders Jane Frances Kuka (Resident District Commissioner of Kapchorwa and former Minister for Gender and Culture), Gimbo Harriet Robinah (Director of Programmes at ActionAid), and Chebet Juliet Carolyn (community worker)
I have a degree in Translation and Interpreting from the Universidad de Madrid and a Master’s in Audiovisual Translation from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. In my three years of professional experience I have been able to translate numerous projects related to habitat and wildlife conservation, popular science and environmental issues. With an average of 3,000 words a day, my clients value my quality, speed and professionalism. Since before I had finished my degree I also began performing work as an interpreter, taking part in projects supported by the European Union and interpreting mainly in consecutive style (both in English and Spanish)
